Oil changes are most possibly the cheapest form of adding life to your car. Besides protecting the engine it also gives us a chance to investigate the car’s under carriage. We can see brake and tire life, we can also spot future services needs. If you ever have a question as to what services the factory recommends, we subscribe to AllData, the most extensive auto service guide available, which has all this information plus any recalls that the manufacture might have. We also keep a 3-year service history on all services we perform.

Tune-ups still need to be performed. Many people think that a 100,000 mile tune-up is all that is necessary, but this is not true. The spark plugs are the only component that has that life expectancy. Fuel filters and air filters are still very serviceable and should be looked at and or changed every 15,000 to 25,000 mile.

Using quality gasoline is just as important. Shell, like most major oil companies, has a quality control program and own our own storage facilities. We have many additives that are proprietary, enough so that the  Shell gasoline’s are patented. This makes Shell products more fuel-efficient then many competitors. Shell V-Power is the most advanced gasoline in the world today, enhances performance and provides the highest fuel economy of any gasoline available

Many smaller named stations, (GETTY, CITGO, BP, HESS)  do not have any quality controls, nor do they own the storage facilities that the gas is stored in. Most pull from the same tanks, without any of the additives that make Formula Shell an outstanding product.  The above mentioned gasoline’s all sell federal mandated base line products. These rules went in to affect in the early 80’s to insure certain standards. Shell’s regular and plus gasoline’s both provide 2 times the baseline additives and Shell’s V-Power provides 5 times the baseline requirement.
